IME, game can be considered a proxy in this case to effective understanding and maneuvering of the real world - a skill which is congruent with reality. Business skills also translate well. Yes, every so often some nutty as fuck business man jumps off of a rooftop because he made the wrong bet and lost a fortune, but he was nutty enough to amass a fortune to begin with, which often times means an understanding that is congruent with reality.
Suicide isn’t a joke, and it’s not to be taken lightly. Jonathan Haidt has already covered these issues that started to spike in 2010s, particularly among girls. I am willing to bet, without much data, that the young girls and boys choosing to kill themselves do so for completely “unrealistic” reasons. Can game help alleviate fantasy? I’d reckon so.
